“Justine is to be highly recommended. After one visit with our young dog, Toffee, we followed her suggestions and had a positive result immediately. Tonight my daughter and grandson arrived unexpectedly (Toffee normally gets extremely excitable with lots of jumping up). We immediately put Justine’s plan into action and Toffee ignored both visitors for the whole visit. We are both amazed and so proud of Toffee. Thank you so much, we never dreamed results would be so quick.”

Justine came to our home on the day I spoke to her – I think she picked up how desperate I sounded! She was just what we needed to help us to cope with 2 very excitable 7 month old puppies, most specifically excessive barking. She was so calm with them and offered and demonstrated different types of practical advice. We took on board everything she advised and have a much calmer home now. The puppies are happy, our 13 year old dog is happy and we are too. We thoroughly recommend Justine to anyone needing that extra bit of help with their puppy.

“Justine visited us at home last week to help with our four month old puppy Lilibet (Lillie). We already had a very placid 11 year old dog, and (amongst a few other problems!) Lillie was play fighting with her, and driving her to distraction. Justine suggested that Lillie might be overtired and need regulated rests in her crate during the day. We have done this … and the result has been AMAZING!! This, and other training that Justine did with Lillie, has really helped us all. We will be using Justine again, and would recommend anyone else to do the same. In addition to her expertise, she is a very friendly woman with a calm and caring attitude towards the dogs.”

“We had our first session today and I can’t express how happy I am with the progress in myself and Lenny already. The instruction was sympathetic, clear and always positive. I was shown what could be achieved then coached on achieving this myself. Lots of tips and praise along the way made it a lovely environment to be in.

“We contacted Justine prior to getting our pup Ernie (miniature dachshund) for a pre-puppy consultation. The information and techniques she provided us with was invaluable. It really helped us to prepare in advance for his arrival and allowed us to implement the training techniques from day one. A few weeks after Ernie’s arrival, Justine came out for a recall training session. It really gave us the confidence we needed to be able to let him off lead safely. Ernie is coming up to a year old now and we still use the techniques Justine taught us. Five star service and would highly recommend”.

“We decided to invest some time to puppy-train whilst on holiday in the Saltash area, with our 1 year old miniature schnauzer. We felt we had the undistracted time to seek out some advice on how to obtain better recall & less barking. We found Puppy Parenting on the internet and arranged 3 x 1 hour training sessions with Justine who has been able to re-base us on our behaviours towards our schnauzer by focusing on being fun for her, keeping her attention and identifying triggers that will cause her to run off.
We are now equipped with the focus Justine has taught us, a ball on a rope, a squeaker, hot-dog treats and a long line lead.Justine also told us about settle-mat training and ‘dinner-towels’ and to ditch the food bowl. Our control and ability to maintain recall and her indifference to other dogs is improving each time we take her out. I honestly feel she is calmer all round – less barking at home too when someone comes to the house or the door. We feel really proud of our little dog and also ourselves. Even though we are not local to Justine/Saltash we still exchange updates via WhatsApp and she still provides great encouragement. Thank-you!”

“I contacted Justine regarding my 21 month springador, Bentley. Ever since we’ve had him from 8 weeks old he’s had really bad anxiety and nervous about everything. He struggles to adapt to new things, even new toys. When Justine came to work with him he bonded with her instantly, he also played with the toys she gave him, this was one the issues we were having, it’s clear to see she cares about the animals a lot. Justine also spent time explaining a plan for Bentley to help him move forward with the issues he has. I cannot recommend her enough for any issues you have, Bentley was so relaxed and this is a dog who is nervous of everything”.

We had a fab introductory session with Justine, in just one session she gave us so many pointers to help us read Herdy’s behaviours. All her advice was practical and easy to follow. Justine is a lovely and friendly lady who offered so many useful tips without judgment. We talked through all the areas of my pup’s behaviour where there was room for improvement and Justine gave me ideas on how to work through these issues, whilst demonstrating to me how to do it.
I have already noticed changes in my pup’s behaviour as a result and her toilet training which was my main issue is slowly but surely improving by the day! Mika is my first dog and I think a visit from Puppy Parenting is a must for first time dog owners or just anyone wanting to learn more. Thank you, thank you, thank you – highly recommend!”

We were struggling with our pup and particularly needed some help with recalling her. Justine spent some time with us and gave us some great tips for improving recall and some other aspects of puppy discipline.
Even after a few days we have had some good successes and life is calmer for us and our hound. Walks are less stressful and we have established a better balance at home. A really helpful and engaging consultation which is also great value for money. Thanks Justine!

“Justine came for a follow up visit this week. We’ve been having a few issues with our 14 week old chihuahua Rolo which we wanted some advice on. In particular nipping our youngest child.
Justine gave us lots of practical advice and spent time showing us general ways to train and develop Rolo.
A few days later we had another worry and Justine was quick to contact us via telephone to talk it though and give some helpful advice to put our minds at rest.

Justine came to see us in the run up to us bringing our puppy home to give us some practical advice on how to best settle him in to our home and start training him. I had read snippets of advice from a book, but being able to talk it through made it much more real and has made us much more confident that we will be able to care for and train him.
Justine talked us through lots of different aspects of his care and training, from what to do on the first day, recommended toys, toilet training, crate training, socialising him, to answering any hare brained questions we had. She was kind, easy to talk to and clearly had a passion for the welfare of animals. Whilst Justine came to us to talk about our puppy, we actually had a nice relaxing evening chatting.
We want a dog that fits our lives and that we can be proud of. Seeing Justine has given us the basic understanding and confidence that we can do that, particularly with her support available going forward. We get our puppy in two sleeps time so are very excited!!
